According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, women comprise about nine percent of the construction work force today. To remain competitive, the industry must continually recruit and train women. Other issues such as pay equity and safety are addressed by NAWIC through committees and round-table discussions. NAWIC members are also personally committed to addressing women?s concerns.
